Development of a cost-effective, automated “X-Ray Inspection Cloud electronic” (Project 2020 FE 0051)

The project, supported by the Free State of Thuringia, was co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Project Task:

Programming and maintaining X-ray inspection systems requires expert knowledge and involves considerable personnel effort.
Often, the user only has the means to undertake this effort. Operating costs quickly exceed the purchase price of an X-ray inspection system.
Despite this high personnel effort, the results are often suboptimal. Especially for smaller production batches, the programming of automated inspection processes is disproportionate to the results.

Project Target:

The X-Ray Inspection Cloud electronic offers a convenient solution. The cloud service handles the programming of inspection processes. Maintenance of the model library and optimization of inspection algorithms also require no customer effort.

The inspection results are conveniently available to the EMS manufacturer in subsequent process steps via a web frontend. Upon request, verification of the inspection results by an X-ray expert is also provided as a service.
